I’ve just watched the tragic episode of Hope’s anaphylactic reaction on Waterloo Road. It was so real and emotional. It highlights how crucial it is that schools know how to administer adrenaline, because every second counts.
Thank you to the team at Waterloo Road. The acting was superb and I’m a wreck after watching it. If you would like to see the scene, it’s on BBC iPLAYER Series 16, Episode 4, around 32 minutes in. Please be prepared, it’s difficult to watch knowing this could happen one day to us.
As parents, it’s so important the schools have 2 sets of adrenaline that are in date. I always set reminders for when to order new EpiPens. Also another reminder, never eat anything where you can’t check the ingredients. I’m sure I’ve told my daughters this so many times, but I’ll definitely be going over it again tonight.
Raising awareness of anaphylaxis saves lives. Know the signs and know what to do.
