We’ve been on our first holiday abroad with the kids!

During the Easter break, it was my husband’s 40th birthday and we wanted to do something special, so we decided to take a trip to Portugal!

We packed lots of safe food with us and stayed at the Eden Villas and Apartments in Albufeira, where all the accommodation have a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave and large fridge freezer.

When we arrived, we hired a car and went to The Food Co. which is only 10 minutes drive away from the resort and sells British products. It was so good to be able to read the ingredients without worrying about the language barrier and also know the kids would enjoy the food.

We did go to an Aldi and Lidl too and used Google Translate to read the ingredients. To be honest, we gained confidence as the week progressed and think we could easily find safe foods for the girls at any supermarkets now.

I still can’t believe we have actually done it! The girls absolutely loved Portugal and we found it easy to cater for the girls with milk, egg and tree nut allergies. So glad we took the plunge! It definitely helped being able to shop at The Food Co. but think as long as the accommodation has a good kitchen with oven, microwave and fridge freezer, we could travel anywhere. Would definitely recommend Eden Villas and Apartments too.
