A couple of weeks ago, we received the following letter from school regarding Georgia’s Chinese New Year Celebration:

As a family, these are the days we dread. Food is always a central part of the celebrations. Georgia was so sad after the Christmas party, where she took her own food into school, I really hoped this time, she could be catered for, rather than having to take in cold food. I was even thinking, could I buy food for the whole class so she could eat everything.
Anyway, I sent a message to her teacher explaining that prawn crackers, plain boiled rice and rice noodles do not normally contain egg and nuts and asked if I could just pop into school one day to check the ingredients. Her teacher sent a message back straightaway with photos of the ingredients of the three items and they were all fine for Georgia to eat.
I was so excited to tell Georgia she could fully take part in the festival and she was so happy! It’s hard as an allergy parent, we feel we are being a nuisance but the results are so worth it! Sometimes it really is celebrating the little wins! Thank you to Georgia’s teacher for being so helpful and for Georgia it will have made today the best day ever!
